MONTROSE, CO – Sharing Ministries, Habitat for Humanity of the San Juans and JustServe.org announces the first annual Dinner on Main Street – a community outdoor barbecue dinner and the celebration of gathering as a community. This event is inspired by two major milestones for the entities: Habitat for Humanity of the San Juans is officially entering its 30th year of operations while Sharing Ministries enters its 25th.
Dinner on Main Street will be a downtown Montrose event taking place outside on the first block of East Main Street that “harkens to the days of Main in Motion, with a twist!”, states Habitat for Humanity of the San Juans Executive Director, Erica Madison. Dinner will be served at long tables, set up in the middle of the street. The Black Canyon Boys & Girls Club will also be on site, operating the beer tent. All alcohol sales will benefit the Boys & Girls Club as they finish the last leg of their major capital campaign to build a new facility with greater capacity to continue serving youth in the community.
The Dinner on Main is a special event based on the simple belief that community is meant to gather and gathering is a gift we appreciate now, more than ever states the Dinner on Main partners. Therefore, the entire community is invited to dine together in the middle of Main Street this fall.
The annual dinner starts at 5:30PM and the cost is $20 per plate. The partnership also has several sponsorship opportunities for interested organizations and individuals. Registration is available online or in person at 1245 E. Main Street at the Our Town Matters Business Center or by calling (970) 765-0913.
All dinner proceeds will equally benefit Sharing Ministries & Habitat for Humanity of the San Juans.
