Donating to the ReStore 

Help us by donating your gently-loved and useful items, treasures you know others will be happy to find!

Remodeling, down-sizing or moving? Habitat for Humanity ReStore wants your treasures. Give your well-loved items a second life by donating them! Donations are tax deductible. We serve Montrose, Ouray and San Miguel counties.

  • Drop-Off Donations
    • Bring your donations, in good condition, to your local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. (Tuesday-Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm) 1601 N. Townsend Ave.
  • Arrange a Pick-Up
    • Call your Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 970-252-9304 ext. 8 to request a free pick-up of those items too big to fit in your car. Or schedule your request online here.

* Due to our overwhelming support from our community donation pick-up appointments for the month of July, 2019 are fully booked.  If you would like to add your information onto our waitlist we are glad to check for availability.

We Accept Brand-New, Gently-Used & Working Condition Items, including:

  • Large Appliances: stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, freezers, washers, dryers
  • Small Appliances: microwaves, toasters, fans, mixers, vacuum cleaners, coffee makers
  • Beds: frames, rails, head and foot boards (except those constructed of particle board)
  • Building Materials: tools, lumber, tile, bricks, roofing, interior and exterior doors, double-pane windows, cabinets, toilets, sinks (Stainless, or Porcelain), faucets, shower enclosures, bath tubs (Vinyl or antique Claw Foot Styles), light fixtures, carpet, carpet pad
  • Clothing: men’s, women’s, children’s, infant. Clean, laundered, no rips, tears, or stains please!
  • Shoes: pairs that are clean and in good condition
  • Electronics and Media:  radios, audio visual equipment, stereo systems, surround sound speaker systems, video game consoles, printers, fax machines, copy machines, print/fax/copy cartridges, DVDs, BluRays, CDs, books
  • Furniture:  sofas, recliners, and occasional tables in gently used condition
  • Hardware: hinges, brackets, door knobs, nails, screws, landscape materials and tools
  • Housewares: dishes, glassware, silverware, paintings, pots, pans, vases, lamps, antiques
  • Linens:  blankets, sheets, towels, rugs
  • Mattresses: Must be labeled with the original manufacturer’s name and address as well as the name of the materials used to fill the article. Must be clean with no rips, stains, holes, tears. We will sanitize each donated mattress in accordance to the Colorado Bedding Act.   • Paint: We will accept new, full, unused cans of paint and spray paint.  Visit the Montrose Special Waste website for used paint disposal information:  http://www.cityofmontrose.org/336/Paint-Waste

We Will Not Accept:

  • Furniture that has tears, rips, stains, animal hair and smells, or is incomplete. This includes mattresses that are missing the original manufacturer’s label. 
  • Particle board: desks, entertainment centers
  • Window Blinds
  • TVs/Screens: includes all tube-style, projection, flat screen, laptop computers, monitors
  • Media: Cassette Tapes 
  • Used paint
  • Household chemicals
  • Broken, damaged, incomplete furniture
  • Organs 
  • Car seats 
  • Baby Cribs
  • Wet, dirty clothing
  • Vehicle tires
  • Fluorescent Bulbs
  • Cast Iron Bath Tubs and Kitchen Sinks (antique claw-foot tubs and sinks accepted)
